According to M-1 Global’s Apy Echteld, Fedor Emelianenko has agreed to fight Dan Henderson this summer in Strikeforce. He didn’t expand on any details such as the date and weight, but says Fedor is ready to fight. From ESPN.co.uk:
“He agreed. He’s ready to fight,” Echteld told ESPN.
“With his progress from training, I can only think he’ll be back the way he was,” Echteld said of the former Pride champion. “If he doesn’t win, he’ll make his own decisions like he does now. If he stops, he stops. But if he wins, I think he’ll continue fighting.”
While Fedor’s management works out the details with Strikeforce and Hendo’s camp, Fedor is continuing to focus on his training in Holland. Check out some training footage below and a photo gallery at MixFight.ru via LowKick.
Update: MMA Weekly is reporting that they have verbally agreed to a 220 lbs. catchweight, but nothing has been signed yet. They’re also hearing it will likely take place at the end of July and putting it on pay-per-view is a strong possibility.
