“[Jose Aldo’s] definitely fought the best of the best, and he’s taken them out, but I don’t think there’s anybody in the division with my kind of striking skills. I think I present a lot of problems… It’s very technical. You see a lot of guys in MMA, they’re somewhat wild in their technique. I feel I’m really technical. I put a lot of pressure. And my hand speed. I think those are three things that can present problems to anybody… I think he likes to fight fire with fire. He likes to prove that he’s better anywhere. … He’s a black belt in jiu-jitsu, a world champion in jiu-jitsu. If we’re going in there treating it like it’s a kickboxing bout, we’re in the wrong sport. I’m ready everywhere, wherever the fight goes.”

— Mark Hominick on Sherdog Radio talking about his upcoming title fight against Mark Hominick

Between GSP-Shields and Randy Couture’s retirement this fight has flown under the radar, yet it’s the one fight I’m most excited for on this card. The other fights have the potential to be boring, but this one? I don’t see how it could be. Jose Aldo is a 145 lbs. buzzsaw and Mark Hominick has looked stellar in recent fights. I don’t know if Hominick’s technical striking is the key to beating Aldo, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he puts up a better fight than most people are expecting him to.

Anyone think Mark Hominick will pull off the upset?
