Not everyone is a fan of his attitude, but for the most part, Matt Hughes has a squeaky clean image. He’s a blue collar country boy who prefers to spend time with his family on his farm than hang out at bars and club like many fighters do.
As such, he’s not at the top of the list of fighters you’d expect to get in a bar fight, but according to TMZ, he allegedly did. Or at least engaged in a shoving match with another bar patron that resulted in a broken nose for an innocent bystander.
TMZ has confirmed 37-year-old Hughes was named in a police report filed in Taylor Springs, IL … stemming from an April 23 incident at a place called Trails End Bar and Grill.
According to a source who was inside the bar, Hughes got into an argument with a male bar patron … which led to some forceful shoving.
Sources tell us … the woman is alleging Hughes pushed the other man into her … and she suffered a broken nose in the collision. TMZ obtained a photo of the woman’s face taken after the incident.
Word is the cops are currently investigating the incident, so Hughes hasn’t been arrested or charged with anything. Beyond that, details are pretty scarce. No one knows who started the fight. Perhaps it was a situation where Hughes was forced to defend himself or the guy said something bad about his wife. Who knows, but until the cops release more details, I’ll give Hughes the benefit of the doubt that he wasn’t a sloppy drunk trying to pick fights and break women’s noses at the local saloon.
