Rick Story wanted a big fight and he got it. He won’t face Jon Fitch, but this opponent will definitely do. The UFC announced tonight that Anthony Johnson has suffered an injury which has forced him out of the UFC on Versus 4 main event with Nate Marquardt. Rick Story will replace him.

Fresh off his career-best victory over Thiago Alves at UFC 130, rising welterweight star Rick Story will step up to face former middleweight contender and 170-pound debutant Nate Marquardt on June 26th in Pittsburgh after it was revealed today that Marquardt’s original foe, Anthony Johnson, was forced to withdraw from the bout due to injury.

According to MMA Fighting, Anthony Johnson suffered a contusion to his rotator cuff which has left him with only 20-30% movement in his shoulder. He’ll be forced to take several weeks off and won’t have enough time to get ready for the fight at the end of the month.

It’s a very quick turnaround for Story, but definitely not the type of opportunity you pass up when you’re trying to make a name for yourself.
