— TUF 3 winner Kendall Grove has been released from the UFC following back-to-back losses to Demian Maia and Tim Boetsch and a 7-6 run in the organization. Grove broke the news on Facebook.

Grove is the third TUF champion (following Travis Lutter and Efrain Escudero) to be cut by the promotion. TUF 13’s Chuck O’Neil has also been released.

— Stephan Bonnar has suffered an undisclosed injury and will be unable to fight at UFC on Versus 5. Brazilian newcomer Ronny Markes will replace him against Karlos Vermola, the UFC announced last night.

— It turns out there was a lot of pent up demand in Brazil for a major UFC event. The promotion announced today that tickets sold out in 74 minutes for the UFC 134 “Rio” card which will take place at HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro.
