BJ Penn has some rather interesting, if not completely impractical ideas to make MMA more exciting. For one, he thinks we should get rid of the belts (I’m not sure why), and two, get rid of the judges. The way he sees it, a fight should end in an automatic draw if it goes the distance and the fighters with the most draws and losses should fall to the bottom of the pay scale and the fighters with the most wins and least amount of draws rise to the top, thus creating one heck of an incentive for fighters to finish fights.

It’s a pretty crazy idea and not to mention completely unrealistic, but it would be nice if there were at least some kind of penalty for grinding out decisions. I’m so tired of watching guys continuously win via smothering and point fighting. #IMissTheYellowCard
