You only get one chance to make a first impression and the UFC is going to make sure they leave a good one on FOX.

The UFC held a conference call today to announce the UFC on FOX 1 main event and it will be a title fight. Specifically, a heavyweight title fight between Cain Velasquez and Junior dos Santos. Dana White calls it their “Griffin-Bonnar moment” while FOX says it’s like getting “Ali vs. Foreman.”

There’s a catch though. It’s the only fight that is guaranteed to air during the one-hour show. It was believed that two fights would be featured on FOX, however they have opted to go with one five-round title fight instead. If it ends early, the plan is to show another fight from earlier in the night or highlights from the best fights.

Velasquez-JDS was previously expected to headline UFC 139 in San Jose on Nov. 19. It’s unclear who will headline that card now, but the show will go on.

UFC on FOX 1 will take place on Saturday, Nov. 12, at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California. FOX is planning to kick off the event a Super Bowl level tailgate and party outside the venue. Tickets will go on sale next week. Expect to see promos during FOX’s football broadcast as soon as this weekend.

On a side note, Dana White added that the Brock Lesnar retirement rumors are completely false.
