Mark Hominick has his first fight lined up since losing to Jose Aldo at UFC 129 earlier this year. The UFC announced over the weekend that Hominick would return to Toronto to take on fan-favorite Chan Sung Jung, aka “The Korean Zombie”, at UFC 140.

“The Korean Zombie” Chan Sung Jung and Mark Hominick have verbally agreed to fight at UFC 140 in Toronto on December 10th. Jung is coming off a Submission of the Year win and Hominick’s last outing had him pushing featherweight champion Jose Aldo to the limit in one of the best performances of his career.”

Win or lose, it will be an emotional fight for Mark Hominick, who recently lost his longtime trainer Shawn Tompkins to a heart attack. Hominick was a part of Tompkin’s core group of students that included Sam Stout and Chris Horodecki. Tompkin’s death was so tough on them, Stout and Horodecki withdrew from their fights, however it appears Hominick has decided to move forward with his career sooner rather than later. It’s unclear though where he will train for upcoming fights.
