It looks like Fabricio Werdum made the jump back to the UFC just in time before Dana White shuts down the Strikeforce → UFC talent pipeline.

MMA Weekly is reporting that Werdum has re-signed with the UFC and will take on Roy Nelson at UFC 143.

A UFC 143 heavyweight showdown between Roy Nelson and Fabricio Werdum is in tap for Super Bowl weekend, according to MMAWeekly.com sources.

MMA Junkie has since confirmed the report.

It’s kind of a late addition for a higher-profile fight, but after Georges St. Pierre withdrew from UFC 143 and the co-main event went from Josh Koscheck vs. Carlos Condit to Josh Koscheck vs. Mike Pierce, the card was in a need of a little boost. Werdum vs. Nelson definitely fills that void.

By the way, it looks like the Showtime-Strikeforce announcement Dana White has been teasing is happening tomorrow.
