It’s official, the UFC is invading Sweden this year.
The announcement led off yesterday’s UFC 142 conference call, and on its heels comes word of several fight bookings — the biggest one being Brian Stann vs. Alessio Sakara.
Fresh off pivotal losses, contenders Brian Stann (11-4 MMA, 5-3 UFC) and Alessio Sakara (15-8 MMA, 6-5 UFC) look to regroup when they meet in the headliner of UFC on FUEL TV 2.
MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) today confirmed with event sources that verbal agreements are in place for the fight, which takes place in Sweden.
The fight was initially reported on Swedish site, MMANytt.se.
It’s unknown who will headline the show, however several undercard bouts were also revealed in the past week or so. They include DaMarques Johnson vs. John Maguire, Cyrille Diabate vs. Jorgen Kruth, Simeon Thoresen vs. Besam Yousef, Francis Carmont vs. Magnus Cedenblad and Papy Abedi vs. James Head.
The show will go down at the Ericsson Globe Arena in Stockholm, Sweden on April 14 and will air on FUEL TV.

Update: MMA Junkie is reporting that UFC on FUEL TV 2 will air live from Sweden at 3pm ET, which is something Spike TV heavily criticized for not doing for the overseas events they aired.
