It appears that rumors of Bellator Fighting Championships branching out to Brazil are true, according to Bellator bantamweight champion Eduardo Dantas.

Dantas, who claimed the title recently with a submission victory over Zach Makovsky, told Marcelo Barone of Tatame that he believes Bellator will be in his native country next year.

Yeah, (Bellator CEO) Bjorn (Rebney), said that in 2013 they’ll come to Brazil. If they come to Brazil I’ll be there. In 2013 Bellator is signing a deal with Spike TV and it’s going to be even better. I’m sure the event will come to Brazil early in 2013.

Dantas stands at 14-2, having won his last seven fights. Included in that stretch are wins over the likes of Wilson Reis, Ed West and Alexis Vila. At just 23 years of age, and having fought since 2007, “DuDu” is an up-and-coming fighter that could really help Bellator attract new fans in the coming years.
