Johny Hendricks made a sudden impact in the UFC’s welterweight division when he knocked out former contender Jon Fitch.
Now, as Hendricks prepares to meet Josh Koscheck – a teammate of Fitch’s – this Saturday night in the co-main event of UFC on FOX: Diaz vs. Miller, the excitement-level is reaching a boiling point for the former NCAA wrestling standout.
“I just can’t wait. I thought I was excited for Fitch, but it’s this fight I’m really excited about,” said Hendricks, on a recent edition of “UFC Tonight.” “I knew if I didn’t get a title shot and (Carlos) Condit wanted to wait, I knew I would have somebody else to fight. I believe I am better than him, no matter where the fight goes. I just can’t wait to hit him.”
Both Hendricks and Koscheck are excellent wrestlers, but they both like to stand and trade, as well. This fight should make a contender out of Hendricks if he is able to get past “Kos.”
