Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira has twice been inside the Octagon with Frank Mir. And, on both instances, he has come out on the losing end.

During a recent interview as part of the UFC Primetime: dos Santos vs. Mir series, Nogueira was asked to give his take on Mir, who will challenge Junior dos Santos for the UFC heavyweight title at UFC 146.

“I don’t know why everybody worships this guy. His ground game is very simple. It’s only his attacks that are a little dangerous. Frank is a guy who’s not deserving to be champion and Junior’s better than him. It’s gonna be something special when he knocks him out.”

Mir and dos Santos will be the main event from Las Vegas. Mir is a former champion in the UFC’s heavyweight division. JDS and Nogueira work and train together in Brazil.
