This is a question that gets posed several times a year: who is the most underrated fighter in the UFC today?

While many prefer to talk about the most overrated fighter, it’s easy to forget about the opposite side of that fence.

Chael Sonnen, the No. 1 contender in the UFC’s middleweight division, and ace reporter Ariel Helwani offered up their takes on a recent edition of “UFC Tonight.”

Sonnen pegged heavyweight Fabricio Werdum as his choice, while Helwani went with Joseph Benavidez.

“It’s Fabricio Werdum. He’s beat world champs, and he looked fantastic against Roy Nelson. He took some time off, and now he’s back.”

“At the end of the day, there are a bunch of good answers here. But, there’s one obvious choice. He is 16-2. He’s the best flyweight out there and it’s Joseph Benavidez. He’s small and good looking, he’s the best 125 pounder out there, and he needs your respect.”

So, who would you tab as the most underrated righter in the UFC right now?
