Randy Couture was a recent guest on “UFC Tonight,” as the former UFC champion discussed a number of subjects. Among them were his current crew of fighters, and if Brock Lesnar deserves to be inducted into the UFC’s Hall of Fame.
Couture, who runs the Xtreme Couture gym in Las Vegas, pointed at welterweight Martin Kampmann as one of the best he works with every day.
I have an amazing crew of guys there. The guy who is most impressive right now is Martin Kampmann. This is probably the most impressive group of guys I’ve been training with in the past couple of years. We have a huge crew of guys. Any given night, any one of those guys could do well.
Couture was also asked about Lesnar being inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame, saying, “I think he definitely should be. He made a huge impact in the sport and we saw that on all the pay-per-view fights.”
Couture retired from fighting in 2011 after a knockout loss to Lyoto Machida. He had won three straight prior to that, finishing with a career mark of 19-11.
“The Natural” will appear in film “The Expendables 2,” which is slated to be released on August 17.
