This Saturday night, two of the baddest men on the planet will collide, as Junior dos Santos defends his UFC heavyweight title against Frank Mir in the main event of UFC 146 from Las Vegas.

On a recent edition of “UFC Tonight,” Randy Couture and Kenny Florian gave us their take on the upcoming bout.

Here’s what Couture, a former UFC heavyweight champion himself, had to say:

At first glance, it looks like a classic match up: the grappler vs. the striker. Mir has some formidable striking, which allows him to engage with dos Santos. We’ve seen him knock out fighters. It has become a very strong part of his game. His conditioning has improved. He has the ability to neutralize dos Santos. So I give the edge to Mir.

Florian, who has competed for the UFC belt during his career, had a different take:

Right now, I give the edge to dos Santos. What makes his striking so good is his footwork. I believe his striking is at such a high level. I think it’s going to be very difficult for Frank Mir to get the takedown.

So, those are two opinions on the fight. How do you see it going? Will JDS knock Mir out, or will the champ follow the same path as those before him and be unable to defend his title?
