Daniel Cormier is coming to the UFC. When and where, however, remains unknown.

When Cormier, who captured the recent Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix title, should think about a drop to light heavyweight, according to UFC president Dana White. White discussed the move in an interview with ESPN.

Yes, he will end up coming over to the UFC. I respect Josh Barnett…but it’s a whole other ball game over here (in the heavyweight division). I’m not telling him, if the guy wants to stay at heavyweight, I’m not telling him where to go, but I think it would be a good move to go to 205.

Cormier suffered a horrible weight cut for the Olympics that knocked him out of the event and nearly took his life. He has talked about staying at heavyweight, but did make mention in previous interviews about not wanting to fight Cain Velasquez, a former UFC heavyweight champion, as the two are training partners at American Kickboxing Academy.

White did add that if “DC” wants to fight for the UFC heavyweight title he would be given a chance to do so.
