MMA Weekly has confirmed with UFC director of international development Marshall Zelaznik that lightweights and welterweights will be used on The Ultimate Fighter: The Smashes.
The series will feature Australia against the United Kingdom, though coaches have yet to be announced.
Fighters were asked from 135 pounds to 170 to try-out for the series, which will begin this fall. The UFC narrowed it down to the two weight classes and will be informing possible candidates soon.
The first international season of The Ultimate Fighter featured an all-Brazilian cast. Vitor Belfort and Wanderlei Silva served as coaches.
