As if it hadn’t been a tumultuous enough day in the MMA world, another big name fighter is injured, and another change has come to UFC 149.

UFC officials announced late Wednesday that top-ranked British fighter, the always controversial Michael Bisping, has suffered an undisclosed injury, and has been removed from his potential title eliminator bout with fast-rising middleweight Tim Boetsch.

Mind you, officials didn’t have to go far to find a replacement. Along with the injury announcement, it was also revealed that reigning Bellator middleweight champion Hector Lombard will be filling the void, and facing Boetsch, in what is sure to be a manly fight.

Originally scheduled to face Brian Stann in the headliner of UFC on FOX 4, Lombard found himself in limbo after his opponent was forced to withdraw from the bout. He now faces what may be an even stiffer challenge as the UFC makes its first trip to Calgary.
