Erik Koch will not risk anything at UFC 149, as Koch will not compete, according to a report by MMA Weekly’s Damon Martin.

Koch was set to challenge Jose Aldo for the UFC featherweight championship, but Aldo was forced out with a reported left thigh strain.

Instead of taking another bout, Koch’s trainer, Duke Roufus, said his fighter will wait for Aldo to heal up and challenge him for the belt.

Aldo doesn’t figure to be on the sidelines for too long with the injury, leaving the bout open to happening over the summer. Koch, however, has not fought since last September, defeating Jonathan Brookins.
