Miesha Tate, the former Strikeforce women’s bantamweight champion, will step back inside the cage on August 18 against Julie Kedzie, the promotion announced on Monday.
Tate-Kedzie is expected to be part of the main card that evening at Strikeforce: Rousey vs. Kaufman on Showtime from San Diego.
Tate (12-3) will be making her first appearance since a submission loss to Ronda Rousey earlier this year. Rousey will face Sarah Kaufman in the main event for the title.
Tate was forced out of action after suffering ligament damage due to the armbar submission Rousey placed on her. The loss dropped her to 5-2 in Strikeforce.
Kedzie (16-9) lost her only Strikeforce fight to Alexis Davis. She has been out of action for over a year due to an injury forcing her out of a fight last year.
