Wanderlei Silva may never get the opportunity to face Chael Sonnen inside the Octagon. By his fellow countryman, UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva does.

Anderson and Sonnen will meet Saturday night in the main event of UFC 148: Silva vs. Sonnen 2 from Las Vegas. The card goes down on pay-per-view, in what is being called the biggest rematch of the year.

During a recent interview with the Brazilian news outlet Tatame, “The Axe Murderer” offered up his take on the fight.

I’d like him to punish Sonnen and smash him out for me and all Brazilians. I guess he went too far and he deserves to be punished. I hope that Anderson not only wins, but punches him a lot.

Wanderlei lost to Rich Franklin most recently, and talk has centered around his fighting career coming to an end. The former PRIDE champion has yet to make any official decision in that regard.
