UFC president Dana White was very critical in what went down recently at UFC 149: Faber vs. Barao.

As MMA fans begin to tear apart Saturday’s UFC on FOX: Shogun vs. Vera event before it even goes down, White would like everyone to take a step back.

“Don’t judge fights until they happen,” said White, during the pre-fight press conference Thursday. “It is sucks on Saturday, I’ll be the first to let you know.”

The next contender to the UFC light heavyweight championship is expected to be determined between the two main card bouts. In the main event, Mauricio “Shogun” Rua takes on Brandon Vera, while the co-main event boasts Ryan Bader and Lyoto Machida.

White has already listened to the fans once this week, as he added the Bader-Machida match into the determining factor for crowning a No. 1 contender. Originally, the winner of Rua-Vera was to be granted the title shot, but White changed it to the fighter that scores the most impressive victory.

“I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again; the way I look at my job is to give the fans what they want,” White said. “They decide what they want to see.”
