Jay Hieron’s 11-1 run since leaving the UFC has given him another opportunity in the promotion.

MMAJunkie.com reported on Wednesday that Hieron has been signed to face Jake Ellenberger at UFC 151: Jones vs. Henderson. Josh Koscheck, the original opponent for Ellenberger, was forced out with a bulging disc in his back.

Hieron’s (23-5) lone loss in his last 12 fights came at the hands of Bellator welterweight champion Ben Askren by decision. Many believed Hieron won the fight.

Earlier in his career, Hieron lost to Jonathan Goulet and Georges St-Pierre inside the Octagon.
