Rory MacDonald isn’t leaving the Canadian Tristar Gym, he is just going to start doing this how he wants to.

MacDonald is set to face BJ Penn this coming December at UFC on Fox: Henderson vs. Diaz, after having the same fight postponed due to a deep cut “Ares” suffered in training earlier this year.

“I’ll still be training at Tristar,” said MacDonald, during an appearance on UFC Tonight. “But I have to do things my way. At the end of the day, I’m the one getting in the cage and taking the risk, and I’m the one making the final call.”

MacDonald is viewed as a future welterweight champion, but will be meeting his toughest foe to date in Penn. “The Prodigy” announced his return to MMA after a self-imposed retirement last year to meet MacDonald.
