Antonio Silva wants to finish Travis Browne.
The two heavyweights will square off Friday night in the main event of UFC on FX 5 from Minneapolis.
After a loss to former UFC champion Cain Velasquez earlier this year, “Bigfoot” is anxious to get back in the Octagon and place himself among the elite heavyweights in the world.
This is a very important fight for me, and I won’t let it go past the second round. It is a five-round fight, but I don’t like decisions on my record. I will do my best to finish Travis Browne inside two rounds.
Browne has never been stopped – or even defeated for that matter. He fought Cheick Kongo to a draw and has won all 13 of his other pro MMA fights.
I know I can take him down to the ground and ground-and-pound him – for sure that is where I am very dangerous. I have been training very, very hard on my standup.
Silva (16-4) has lost two straight, as he was also finished by Daniel Cormier in Strikeforce before joining the UFC.
