Forrest Griffin and Stephan Bonnar will not be meeting later this year at UFC 155, as it was announced that Griffin will face Phil Davis in the co-main event.

Most felt like a third encounter between the two was in the cards following a loss by Bonnar to Anderson Silva recently.

Instead, the UFC paired Griffin up with Davis in a match up of former champion vs. potential future contender.

That didn’t keep Griffin from laying the ground work for a future fight with Bonnar, and even naming an interesting location, on Twitter recently.

Griffin and Bonnar have met twice before, including a classic battle in the finals of the first-ever Ultimate Fighter. Griffin is 2-0 vs. “The American Psycho.”
