UFC heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos is often credited with being the best boxer in MMA.

Dos Santos, who will look to record his second successful title defense later this year vs. Cain Velasquez has been asked many times about a potential boxing match up with world champion Wladimir Klitschko.

During a recent interview in Los Angeles, “Cigano” did not shy away from his opinion on such a fight.

I could beat that guy, man. Maybe not easy, but I could knock him out.

Dos Santos added that he respects the boxer, but “it’s kind of boring.” He said the state of the game is to play it safe and it’s “not the Mike Tyson time.”

As for a possible venture into the boxing ring from the Octagon, that isn’t on the mind of dos Santos at all.

“I love who I am, and I want to stay in MMA. Boxing is going down.”
