A featherweight bout that could help determine the next contender in the division has been moved, as Erik Koch and Ricardo Lamas will now compete at UFC on Fox 6.

Koch and Lamas were originally scheduled to meet at UFC 155, but will now go down in January, according to a report by MMAjunkie.com.

Koch (13-1) and Lamas (12-2) both have close ties to the area where UFC on Fox 6 takes place. Lamas trains in the Chicago area, the site of the card, while Koch works out at Roufusport in nearby Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Both fighters are ranked among the elite featherweights in the world. In fact, Koch had two title fights scheduled in 2012 with UFC champion Jose Aldo, but injuries scrapped both contests.

Lamas, meanwhile, recently defeated the highly-rated Hatsu Hioki to cement his place in the division.
