Strikeforce officials have promised to return in 2013 with a mega-event, and it appears at least one title will be on the line that night.

According to a report by MMAjunkie.com, Strikeforce middleweight champion Luke Rockhold will face Lorenz Larkin. The two were expected to meet in November, but that card was one of two cancelled by the promotion.

Rockhold (10-1) is undefeated in his Strikeforce career, having successfully defended the belt against Keith Jardine and Tim Kennedy. He was injured in training before news of the card cancellation came about.

Larkin (13-0) is also unbeaten in Strikeforce, but that has a bit of a mark next to it. Larkin was defeated at light heavyweight by Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal, but the decision was changed to a no-contest after Lawal failed his post-fight drug test. Larkin won his middleweight debut over Robbie Lawler earlier this year.
