It’s been an interesting day of news for Strikeforce.

On one hand, three title fights have been signed for a January event, along with Daniel Cormier taking part in the action.

However, if TMZ – a celebrity gossip site – is true, January will also mark the end of Strikeforce.

The site is reporting that Ronda Rousey, the current Strikeforce women’s champion, has signed with the UFC and that the promotion will seize to exist after the new year.

Rousey will become the UFC 135-pound female champion, according to the report, and will face either Sara McMann, Cris Cyborg and Miesha Tate in her UFC debut.

No Strikeforce official, or even a source within MMA, was credited in the story.
