An injury to Gray Maynard has caused the UFC to insert Jim Miller into a showdown with Joe Lauzon for UFC 155.

UFC 155 takes place December 29 from Las Vegas. Lauzon-Miller is scheduled to remain on the main card.

Maynard, a former contender in the UFC’s 155-pound division, was seeking a second consecutive victory after topping Clay Guida earlier this year. The nature of his injury has not been released.

Miller (21-4) will be looking to rebound from a defeat at the hands of current No. 1 contender Nate Diaz. The loss dropped Miller to 1-2 in his last three, and 10-3 overall in the UFC.

Lauzon (22-7) made it known following a win over Jamie Varner that he wanted to test his skills vs. Maynard. The “Fight Night” bonus king has scored 11 honors and is 3-1 in his last four.
