Johny Hendricks feels his resume warrants a shot at the UFC welterweight title.

Hendricks, who has won five straight, including a knockout over Martin Kampmann, told Radio that competing for the UFC title is the only fight of interest to him.

I can’t keep fighting and being the No. 1 contender for years. There has to be a time to take a stand and I feel like now is that time. I’m not going to fight unless it’s for a belt. Nothing else matters but the belt.

Hendricks (14-1) is 9-1 inside the Octagon and feels as though St-Pierre is “trying to keep money from my kids” by talking about facing Nick Diaz when he returns from a suspension in early 2013. There is also the rumored super-fight with Anderson Silva that would keep GSP away from facing Hendricks, and “Bigg Rigg” on the sidelines.

“If I win that belt and take it from him, my life changes,” Hendricks said. “He’s trying to not give me the fair shot. That’s crazy to me to think this guys is trying to control my future. That makes me want to win that much even more.”
