Christian M’Pumbu is the Bellator light heavyweight champion.

You may not realize that, as M’Pumbu has yet to defend his title since winning it in 2011.

And, after a training injury to Attila Vegh, it appears M’Pumbu will have to wait even longer.

MMAjunkie.com has confirmed that Vegh is out of a planned main event match with M’Pumbu at Bellator 84. The card takes place December 14.

M’Pumbu (18-4-1) defeated Rich Hale to win the title in 2011. He was topped in a non-title fight later that year vs. Travis Wiuff, and has not fought since.

The report states that Bellator will look to re-book the bout in early 2013 after Vegh is cleared.
