DREAM and GLORY have announced the first two MMA fights for their joint effort New Year’s Eve card from Japan, DREAM 18.

The event is expected to put several forms of fighting on display from the Saitama Super Arena on December 31.

Bibiano Fernandes, the DREAM bantamweight champion, will face DEEP champion Yoshiro Maeda, while middleweights Melvin Manhoef and Denis Kang have signed to compete, as well.

Fernandes (12-3) has won four straight fights, and made waves when he turned down a contract with the UFC. Instead, he competed for ONE FC earlier this year, defeating Gustvao Falciroli.

Maeda (30-11-2) has won two straight after dropping two in a row. Both of his latest victories have come via rear-naked choke.

Manhoef (26-9-1) and Kang (35-15-2) are both veterans of the UFC.
