Rory MacDonald picked former UFC champion BJ Penn apart for 15 minutes, earning himself a signature win in his young career.

Penn, on the other hand, is at the opposite end of the spectrum from MacDonald. “The Prodigy” has yet to say if he will retire for good this time, but MacDonald recently informed Tatame how he felt about Penn’s future.

I think he has to do what’s best for him and his family. If he cannot fight with the same vigor as before, I think he should not continue fighting. But this is a decision that is only up to him.

Penn (16-9-2) has not won inside the Octagon since 2010, and UFC president Dana White hinted that retirement appeared to be the best option for him at this point. Penn previously retired last year after a loss to Nick Diaz, but returned to meet MacDonald.
