Joe Lauzon wanted to test his skills against Gray Maynard later this month at UFC 155. Instead, Lauzon will settle for going toe-to-toe with Jim Miller.

After Maynard suffered a training injury, the UFC opted to place Miller in the bout. More injuries went down, and now, Lauzon-Miller is the co-main event for the year-end card.

For Lauzon, that’s a blessing he plans to take full advantage of.

I was very disappointed that Gray Maynard got hurt, but at the same time, whenever I’ve had guys pull out last minute, I’ve had great fights. This is going to be ‘Fight of the Night.’ Jim Miller is tough, very good everywhere; he’s had great fights, he’s exciting – the kind of fights I like to have.

Lauzon (22-7) rebounded from a loss to Anthony Pettis earlier this year to top Jamie Varner. He is 4-2 in his last six, and owns 11 bonuses for Fight, Submission and Knockout of the Night.
