Ed Herman will become the first signed UFC fighter to compete for Strikeforce, as he replaces an injured Lorenz Larkin in a match up with Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza.

Officials announced that Herman-Souza will take place at a catch-weight of 194 pounds. Souza is a former Strikeforce middleweight champion.

Herman has gone 20-8 in his career. The 32-year-old has not lost in four fights, though his last bout was changed to a no-contest after Jake Shields failed his post-fight drug test.

Souza (16-3) has gone 6-1 with Strikeforce. His lone loss came at the hands of Luke Rockhold in a bout for the title.

Herman-Souza will be part of the Showtime-televised main card at Strikeforce: Marquardt vs. Saffiedine on January 12 from Oklahoma City.
