Alexander Gustafsson will get the chance to compete in front of his native fans once again, as reports are circulating that Gustafsson will meet Gegard Mousasi in April.

The two light heavyweights would be the main event for UFC on Fuel TV 9, which is expected to take place in Stockholm, Sweden from the Ericcson Globe Arena. MMAViking.com first reported the bout following comments made by Gustafsson.

Gustafsson (15-1) was called the No. 1 contender by UFC president Dana White after defeating Mauricio “Shogun” Rua this past December, but “The Mauler” said at the time he would not sit on the sidelines and wait for a title shot.

Jon Jones, the current UFC light heavyweight champion, is scheduled to defend his belt in April against Chael Sonnen.

Mousasi, meanwhile, is 33-3-2 and would be making his Octagon debut. The veteran is 20-1-1 since 2006 and unbeaten in his last six fights overall.
