Many felt like placing two flyweights in the main event of a Fox-televised show would not pay off.

However, after the early over-night ratings have come in, it seems the UFC knew what it was doing, as UFC on Fox 6 generated 3.77 millions viewers on average Saturday night.

The card featured UFC flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson defending his title successfully vs. John Dodson. Former UFC light heavyweight champion Quinton “Rampage” Jackson was also in action, falling to Glover Teixeira, while a key lightweight tilt boasted Anthony Pettis knocking out Donald Cerrone.

The initial numbers, which were reported by TVByTheNumbers.com, do not include the final of the main event, which ran past the scheduled time. Official Nielsen ratings are expected either Monday or Tuesday.

In comparison to other UFC on Fox events, the last card – which took place this past December – generated 3.41 million viewers. The fourth, which took place in the summer, had 2.36 million.
