An intriguing heavyweight contest has been verbally agreed to for the second World Series of Fighting card, as former UFC heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski faces Anthony Johnson.

Ray Sefo, the president of the WSOF, confirmed with BloodyElbow.com that the two are set to square off on March 23 from Atlantic City. The main card will air on NBC Sports Network.

“We have a verbal agreement for our main event,” Sefo said. “It’s Andrei Arlovski vs. Anthony Johnson. It will be at heavyweight.”

Arlovski and Johnson both competed at the first WSOF card, and talk of the two ex-UFC fighters squaring off started that night. Johnson (14-4) competed at welterweight while in the UFC, but has transitioned to the light heavyweight ranks.

Arlovski (19-9-1) won the UFC title back in 2005, and is unbeaten in his past five fights.
