Jose Aldo’s next challenger will once again come from the lightweight ranks, as Anthony Pettis has agreed to face Aldo in August.

The bout, which was first reported by, will be for Aldo’s UFC featherweight title. It is slated for August 3, though no venue has been announced.

Aldo (22-1) recently defeated former UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar for his fourth victory inside the Octagon.

Pettis (16-2) returned from a year-long layoff to defeat Donald Cerrone last month. Following the Aldo-Edgar fight, “Showtime” sent UFC president Dana White a message saying he would be willing to fight “Scarface” for the title.

“Two of the baddest dudes in the fight business are going to fight at 145 pounds,” White said. “These guys are two of the most amazing, gravity-defying athletes in the sport.”
