UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez remains opponent-less.

Following Alistair Overeem’s surprising loss to Antonio Silva, the UFC has yet to announce the No. 1 contender to Velasquez.

One name that has been brought up is Fabricio Werdum, but he is set to face Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira after they coach together on The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil this year.

“I think Werdum is one of the best heavyweights in the UFC,” said Velasquez, during a recent interview with the Brazilian site Tatame. “He’s a good fighter, has one of the best jiu-jitsu and is a good person.”

However, with Werdum tied up coaching TUF and facing Nogueira, Velasquez doesn’t see that matching up with what he wants: a fight this summer.

“I do not know what will happen now,” Velasquez said, “because I’ll probably fight before he faces Rodrigo ‘Minotauro. But, I’m not the kind of guy who asks for an opponent.”
