If – and it still remains a big if – the UFC is able to hold a card in New York City at famous Madison Square Garden, Anderson Silva has a main event in mind.
Silva, speaking with a group of Brazilian reporters recently, stated his desire to face Jon Jones at a catch-weight in New York.
SporTV, a Brazilians news outlet, followed up with one of Silva’s managers, Jorge Guimarares, who confirmed the possibility of the fight going down.
“This is a fight that nobody is interested in taking the belt from anyone. Eventually it can happen, everything indicates that it can happen, but nothing is confirmed yet.”
If, and it all still remains a big if, Silva suggested a bout with neither title on the line taking place at 192 pounds. One question, though, remains unknown: would it be three rounds or five scheduled?
