If you remember correctly, after Ronda Rousey won the Strikeforce women’s title, she was asked about following in the footsteps of Gina Carano and signing up for roles in movies.

Now, after successfully competing for the UFC, Rousey is being mentioned as a possibility for an upcoming film called “The Hunger Games 2.”

On UFC Tonight recently, UFC president Dana White gave his thoughts on Rousey leaving MMA – even for a short time – to be part of a major motion picture.

You know how I feel about the movie stuff. When Rampage did the movie, it was his dream to be a part of the A-Team. I don’t want to take away any opportunities from Ronda, but at the same time, her window of opportunity as a professional athlete is really narrow. She could make a zillion movies when she retires. Where she’s really going to get the money is here fighting. I don’t care if she’s the lead role in ‘The Hunger Games 2,’ she would not make anywhere near – I mean, not even in the universe – to the money she makes fighting.

White’s claims that Rousey will make more money in fighting are interesting, as he is one of only a handful of people that know what “Rowdy” makes for each fight – at least in terms of her UFC salary.

Rousey has yet to say anything regarding the matter, but I just can’t help but think back to earlier when he said movie roles would be there after her fighting career was done.
