It appears that win over Josh Koscheck provided Robbie Lawler a longer deal with the UFC, as his manager confirmed with MMAjunkie.com on Friday that his fighter has signed a new deal.

Lawler (20-9) finished Koscheck in the first round last month, improving to 5-3 in the UFC. He previously fought for the company before moving to EliteXC and eventually Strikeforce.

Monte Cox, the manager for Lawler, declined to provide the numbers for the deal. “Ruthless” picked up $105,000 for his win over Koscheck at UFC 157.

I honestly believe Lawler would have been released had he lost to Koscheck, but the win vaulted him up the rankings and provided him a future in the company.
