UFC president Dana White answered a fan on Twitter Thursday, informing him that Mark Hunt would not be facing Junior dos Santos.

White went on to further explain why, saying that Hunt had turned down the contest.

Hunt had previously stated he would accept a May contest with the former champion after Alistair Overeem was forced out with an injury. Instead, it appears the UFC will go ahead and delay Overeem-dos Santos for later this year.

As for Hunt, White mentioned a Top-10 fighter next after his recent win over Stefan Struve.

It remains to be seen what changed Hunt’s mind. Maybe an injury? Maybe a change of heart? Only “The Super Samoan” knows for sure.
