Junior dos Santos does not want to sit and wait for Alistair Overeem to heal up. No, “Cigano” wants to get back inside the Octagon in May, regardless of who he faces.
Overeem was injured earlier this month and forced out of the planned UFC 160 bout. Officials have hinted that it would be moved to later in the year, but dos Santos wants back inside the cage as soon as possible.
“I’m training to fight in May and expect that to happen,” said dos Santos, via the social media site Instagram. “No matter the opponent, waiting is wasting time.”
The former UFC heavyweight champion was defeated by Cain Velasquez in December, surrendering his title in the process.
