Roger Hollett isn’t planning on just showing up and going the distance with Fabio Maldonado when the two collide in Brazil at UFC on FX 8.

No, after suffering a loss to Matt Hamill in his Octagon debut last year, Hollett (13-4) wants to make a statement vs. the Brazilian on his home turf.

“I plan to knock him out or win the ‘Submission of the Night,'” said Hollett, during a recent interview with the Brazilian news source Tatame. “What comes first?”

Hollett had his five-fight win streak snapped by a returning Hamill last September, as the 34-year-old Canadian was unable to solve the ex-Olympians grinding style.

“I started my camp two weeks ago,” Hollett said. “I think it will be a great fight because he likes to stand and trade. It will be a good fight for the fans.”

Hollett and Maldonado are both in need of a victory, as the UFC continues to work to clean up the divisions.
