Gegard Mousasi will make his Octagon debut against Ilir Latifi this Saturday at UFC on FUEL TV 9 after an injury knocked Alexander Gustafsson out.

Now, personally, I don’t think Latifi has a chance at upsetting Mousasi, but UFC Tonight hosts Kenny Florian and Rashad Evans made sure to issue a stern word of warning to not take “The Sledgehammer” lightly.

“Latifi is a national champion in wrestling in Sweden,” Florian said. “If we’ve seen a weakness in Mousasi in the past, it’s with guys who can take him down and control him, so perhaps Ilir has the style that will give him a lot of problems.”

Evans, meanwhile, trained with Latifi at the Blackzilians and Florida and believes his knockout power could stun Mousasi.

“He was one of the first members of the Blackzilians. We trained together. He was strong. I started calling him ‘The Strongy.’ He’s a good wrestler and has a lot of power in his hands. He can put you out with one shot.”

So, did the words of Florian and Evans give you a little more hope for a competitive main event, or will it be like so many Strikeforce fights where it is nothing but a one-sided beat down?
